South Africa, first birthday, first steps....

Sorry it has been a while.
We had a fabulous holiday in South Africa for just over 2 weeks and have been enjoying the heat back in Armenia now. he weather in SA was perfect though and we saw so much.
Logan has just started walking and clapping- and thought you might want to see.
He really is very cute at the moment and we go swimming every day.
Better go - he wants a swim!

Summer!

Yay! Summer is here. The days are long, the skies are blue (mostly) and the grass is green.
So this is when we choose to visit a South African winter...go figure!

The other news is Logan has taken his first steps. Will try and catch it on video in SA but its very cute. Think drunken penguin!

A couple of weeks ago we went to the Yerevan Hash. Never been before. Its an international phenomenon it seems. "Drinkers with a running problem"

Going away

We went away Easter weekend. I thought it might be a good time - it seemed to be warming up... Well it snowed pretty much the whole time - except the drive up!
We went to Lori which is near the border to Georgia and towards Turkey. Lovely monasteries everywhere - the most modern being renovated in about 1200!
Logan and Pete were well-behaved - even when we got lost about 200 times. Sometimes you see the coolest things when you get lost! (and sometimes you have to do a three-point turn on a dirt track on the side of a mountain...) Suppose its a little like real-life!

One year ago...

We were in Samoa! Wow! Was just looking at photos and we both look so much younger (I am trying to convince myself it was the tan!)
Still Logan is much more fun out than in! He has been a star today. He went for an early nap and then went for a big 2 hour walk with me in the stroller. He loves pulling himself up on furniture now. He gets this proud grin when he succeeds.
He also enjoys crawling after a beach ball like a kitten and listening to books being read - especially pop-ups.
He managed to find the toilet bowl the other day though - so news is not all good!
Promise to post video soon

Back to NZ

Wow! What an awesome trip back to NZ. The family had so much fun... Funny too - cos the weather was OK (no complaints - just not the sunny weather you had been having). But staying in Beach Haven on the water and in Wellington on the water was just lovely. And it was great to catch up with family and friends. Very busy 2 weeks - but we managed to go to the beach several times, catch up with lots of friends, go to the zoo, meet and catch up with great grandparents and even managed a little wine tour! Thanks so much to all that saw us - and sorry if we missed you. I have more photos...

Crawling!

Hi everyone!

Hope all is well. We thought we would send the last pics of the snow...because most of it has melted now! Makes walking around a lot safer. Speaking of mobilising - Logan has clicked onto how to crawl. It happened one day before his 7 month birthday. Now he is gathering speed and moves rooms pretty quickly.
One more week and we will be back in NZ so hopefully there is still a bit of sunshine left. From the weather reports...wow...what a scorcher!
Can't complain here though - it is very mild now. We have turned down the heaters and have a few windows open.

Anyway - better catch the little one....

Photos: Ski field, Logan bundled up, the water frozen in the pipes (which burst/fall off etc), Pete and Logan in the park (Pete got a haircut later that day...whew)
And...the crawler..

Playgroup and food!

Wow - time has flown since the last post! Its still freezing though. And Logan still can't crawl (whew!) But he gets to whereever he wants anyway! He is eating a whole lot more though... he is very insistent on being independent though so meals are quite messy! We are now onto 3 meals a day.
Today we had Playgroup at our house. Five kids came over. I even baked a chocolate cake and biscuits (small feat for me). It was fun and Logan loved seeing the other kids..though it was limited as to how much he could do with them!
We are into planning now for our trip back...we arrive 16/2 for just less than 2 weeks. Hopefully we catch up with as many people as possible.

New Years!

Snow...and lots of it. And wonderful French wine and 51yr old Armenian wine. Warm people and fantastic food (as well as a 6 monther enjoying the party. What a great way to bring in the New Year!

Christmas

Seasons greetings! Hope everyone had a wonderful Xmas...We missed you all.
We had a lovely dinner and Logan was spoilt with his new exersaucer, high chair and car seat.
Here are a few pics of him getting to know Zoe, finishing off his plate and trying out solids!
Lots of love
